Lumen Field opened in 2002 as Seahawks Stadium, replacing the Kingdome. It was built to host the NFL's Seattle Seahawks and MLS's Seattle Sounders FC, and has since hosted major events including the 2014 Super Bowl XLVIII and the 2023 NFL Pro Bowl Games. The stadium is known for its loud crowd, having set a Guinness World Record for loudest crowd roar at a sports stadium in 2013. In 2026, it will host six matches during the FIFA World Cup, including a round of 16 game.
