MetLife Stadium opened in 2010 as a replacement for Giants Stadium, built to serve as the home of the NFL's New York Giants and New York Jets. It has hosted Super Bowl XLVIII in 2014, the 2016 Copa América Centenario final, and WrestleMania 29. During the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the stadium will host eight matches, including a round of 16 and a quarterfinal.
