Stadium History
SoFi Stadium opened in September 2020 as the home of the NFL's Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers. Built on the former site of the Hollywood Park Racetrack, it was designed as a multi-purpose venue capable of hosting major events. Notable past events include Super Bowl LVI in 2022, the College Football Playoff National Championship in 2023, and the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2028 Summer Olympics. For the 2026 FIFA World Cup, SoFi Stadium will host five group stage matches and one Round of 32 match.
